To begin, please provide high-resolution images of the front, back, and signature of your artwork.

  1. Include the dimensions of the artwork.
  2. Share any available details about its history, provenance, past ownership, and exhibition records.
  3. We will review this information and provide you with a quote for our services.
  4. Upon accepting the quote, payment is required to initiate the process.
  5. We will then conduct a thorough examination of your artwork, utilizing scientific and historical analysis.
  6. Once the authentication is complete, you will receive a detailed report.

Examinations generally occur after the research phase, but we offer flexibility and can conduct early assessments if your timeline or specific needs require it.

Given the high value and delicate nature of works by artists such as Klimt, we recommend not shipping the artwork unless absolutely necessary. To minimize risk, we offer several remote options for examination:

  • High-resolution image analysis
  • Live video assessments (e.g., via Zoom)
  • On-site evaluations
  • Local assessments

We employ a comprehensive range of scientific techniques to authenticate artwork, including material analysis, dating methods, specialized photography, and forensic studies.

The timeline for authenticating a work by Gustav Klimt can vary based on the complexity of the piece. For straightforward cases, the process may take just a few days. For more complex or disputed works, the evaluation can take several weeks or even months.

There is no additional charge for a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). If your artwork is confirmed to be genuine, the COA is included in the final report at no extra cost.

While many of our preliminary services—such as initial inquiries or providing a rough value estimate—are free of charge, more extensive services do come with associated fees. The fees for comprehensive analysis and authentication begin at $300, depending on the complexity of the case.

To ensure the integrity of our process and avoid conflicts of interest, payment is required upfront for our services.

No, we cannot accept payment after the artwork has been sold. Allowing post-sale payments would present a potential conflict of interest that could undermine the objectivity of our evaluation.
